Confirmation
Baptism is the beginning of the journey of faith, when we thank God for his gift of life and publicly acknowledge his love. In the Anglican Church, it is common to baptise young children; this is sometimes known as christening. Parents and godparents make promises on the child's behalf about their membership of the church.
Many christians, however, find that, as they get older, they want to make those same promises themselves. It serves as a renewal of faith and a declaration to family and friends of that person's faith.
Confirmation is normally done by a bishop and there is some preparation to be undertaken before the service.
